Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop Gets Refreshed Specs And Look For 2022

At CES 2022, Acer has revealed a slew of new PC and laptops for 2022. One of them includes the 2022 refresh of Acer’s affordable gaming laptop, the Acer Nitro 5.

The 2022 Nitro 5 will be available with either 12th-gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 6000 Series CPU, both the latest versions for this year. It also comes with either a 1080p display with 144 Hz or 165 Hz refresh rate, both supporting AMD Freesync for smooth and screen-tear-free gameplay.

GPU-wise, the highest range of the new Acer Nitro 5 can be decked with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

Interestingly, the Nitro 5 now includes Ethernet E2600 and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, for the ones running Intel chips, though only for select markets.

On the audio side, the Nitro 5 also includes DTS:X Ultra for 3D spatial sounds. Cooling wise, it has a dual-fan cooling system, intakes on the top and bottom of the new chassis, and four exhaust ports (two on the back, and one on each side above the I/O ports).

Design-wise, the new 2022 Nitro 5 chassis took similar notes with the new 2022 Predator designs. It’s now perfectly rectangular and has discarded accent colours (which was the usual gamer red). The only properly red accents are the keyboard lighting, which is a customisable 4-zone RGB lighting.

The 2022 Acer Nitro 5 will go on sale in April (Intel) and May (AMD) in North America retailing at $1,099.99 USD (approximately RM4,612). Stay tuned when we get updates from Acer on its availability here in Malaysia.
