The Acer Nitro 16, 2023’s replacement for the long-running Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptops, arrives in Malaysia today.
Billed as the gaming laptop for casual gamers and students, the Acer Nitro 16 sports what’s considered “entry-level” specs for PC gaming. Though the pricing suggests otherwise.
The entry-level variant starts at RM5,789, and only goes higher, overlapping pricing for the Predator Helios 16 Neo.
What the Acer Nitro series has that the Predator Helios doesn’t is AMD CPUs. The three variants of the Acer Nitro 16 in Malaysia are all powered with AMD Ryzen 7000 series chips.
And just as we have thought, the Nitro 16 looks to be sharing the same chassis as the Predator Helios 16 Neo. Though the Nitro 16 is more monochromatic in this regard.
And as you might guess, the Acer Nitro 16 has also switched to a 16-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio screen, giving it a slightly squarer form factor.
