UPDATE 4/6/20: The article has been updated with the correct specs for the AOpen 27HC5RP, and a revised date of the Shocking Sale on Shopee promo. The original story follows.
Need an extra monitor for your work from home setup? Acer Malaysia has just launched a new line of monitors with more affordable price tags.
These aren’t marketed for gaming per se (Acer has Nitro and Predator branded monitors for that), but for under RM1,000 it’s good enough for gaming. And it’s perfect if you’re looking to add another screen for your work from home or streaming setup for a good price.
Similar to most Acer monitors the AOpen line also has Acer BlueLight Shield (reduced blue light exposure) and no screen flickering.

The cheapest of the three AOpen line, the 22CV1Q, is a 21.5″ 1080p screen with 75Hz refresh rate using a VA panel- which sits in-between IPS and TN panels in terms viewing angle and refresh. The AOpen 22CV1Q is priced at RM289.
The AOpen 24CL1Y is a bit bigger at 23.8″ 18080p with an IPS panel. So it has better viewing angles and colour quality. It’s priced at RM279.

The last of the trio is the 27HC5RP, a 27″ curved monitor with a 1080p VA panel, 144Hz refresh rate (165Hz when overclocked and plugged using DisplayPort) and AMD Freesync support. This is the best for dedicated gaming of the three, and with a clear price gap, at RM699.
The AOpen monitors will be available in Malaysia on June 5, with free gifts included on purchase at select resellers until June 12.
On June 7 12AM, Acer Malaysia will be doing a 9-hour Shocking Sale on Shopee, where a limited number of AOpen 22CV1Q and AOpen 24CL1Y are selling at RM40 and RM50 off respectively (but will not include the free gifts)
