Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Sales Surpasses 7 Million Worldwide

The Ace Combat series is soaring high, as publisher Bandai Namco announced the at the moment latest entry to the series, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, has sold more than 7 million units worldwide in cumulative sales.

The game has sold another million units since January 2025.

The Ace Combat series, which began in 1995, has also reached the cumulative sales total of over 21 million units, as of January 2026.

Bandai Namco is currently developing a sequel to Ace Combat 7, Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve, to be released this year.

The Ace Combat series is one the unique ones to still be well alive. It’s an arcade combat-focused flight sim. It’s also set in an alternative “strangereal” setting where it has the groundedness of a real-world setting filled with geopolitical tension that makes use of these ace combat pilots but the world itself is all fictional.

However, the fictional setting didn’t stop Ace Combat 7, which emerged after a long dormant period for the series, from having a timely collaboration DLC with the film that also just had a new sequel after long being dormant, Top Gun Maverick.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is out now on PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (as Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition).

Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve will be coming this year for the PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
