Control Resonant Sales Pass 1 Million, Becomes Fastest-Selling Remedy Game

Control Resonant has become Remedy Entertainment’s fastest-selling game since its inception 31 years ago, as sales has surpassed 1 million copies after three weeks since its launch.

The title is also Remedy’s first self-published titled “of this scale.” Annapurna Picture are involved with Control Resonant, but as a co-financier and co-producer.

“One million copies is a very strong start. Control Resonant is Remedy’s first self-published release of this scale, launched into one of the most competitive windows in years alongside the industry’s biggest names,” says Remedy Entertainment CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon.

Gaudechon also believes that the Control and Alan Wake as two of Remedy’s established franchises, and are committed to them in the long run. “Our focus is to build on what makes them special, support them, and grow them even further. There is a lot more to come from these worlds,” Gaudechon adds.

Control Resonant stars sad boy Dylan Faden, who now is awaken with supernatural abilities and a melee weapon that can shapeshift, and now must venture into an unfamiliar, paranaturally-filled Manhattan to find her sister, and protagonist of Control, Jesse.

Control Resonant swapped guns for melee action this time, though it may not be for everyone. It looks like a character action game, but it isn’t specifically built as a character action game, which has a specific audience with specific requirements. If you’re not picky with how your action game should play like, and just can’t take your eyes off the weird, unquestionably Remedy feel to their games, story and worlds, Control Resonant should be a fun time.

Control Resonant is out now on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S. Physical editions on PS5 and Xbox Series X are now available. Check out our review of the game here.
