Xbox Introduces FPS Boost Mode, Boosting Backwards Compatible Games

Microsoft continues their form of making their backwards compatible games run amazing on their new hardware by announcing FPS Boost Mode for selected titles.

The new mode lets games run on 60fps or more (Lucky’s Tale is boosted to 120fps!) without the developer needing to update the game from their end. It also means that both Series X and S consoles will be the factor that runs the game on a higher framerate.

The first four games announced to run on this FPS Boost are Far Cry 4, Watch_Dogs 2, Sniper Elite 4, UFC 4 and New Super Lucky’s Tale. All of them are Xbox One titles but expect more older titles to hop into their program soon.

No date when will this feature will be available to all users, but FPS Mode will be on every Series X and S consoles via a Dashboard update quite soon.
