Windows 11 Begins Rollout Starting October 5

Microsoft has officially announced the start date for the rollout of Windows 11, their next PC operating system.

Windows 11 is a free upgrade for Windows 10 users and you can expect to see the update rolling out to eligible systems starting October 5. Though not everyone will be getting it day-one. It’s a rollout, not a launch, so expect to see the free PC upgrade to arrive starting October 5 to mid-2022. The newer your device is, the faster the rollout will arrive to you first.

Windows 11 will be bringing some UI changes (which you may or may not be a fan of, depending on how you use your PC). But the more important bit for us gamers is the new Microsoft Store and other behind-the-curtain gaming features which includes DirectX 12 Ultimate, DirectStorage and Auto HDR. The Xbox Game Pass app also comes pre-installed.
