We Love Katamari Is Getting A Remaster, Rolling Out This June

Bandai Namco has revealed the sequel to Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, is getting a full remaster.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie (yes that’s the full title) will be rolling out this June bringing the PS2 game originally released in 2005 to modern platforms.

Similar to Katamari Damacy Reroll, the remaster of the original Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie will feature upgraded graphics (which can be toggled between “usual stuff” and “gorgeous” settings) and “superior playability”. There’s now a compass to lead you to the next point of interest, for example.

All the levels from the original release of We Love Katamari are back (including offline multiplayer). Plus, there’s a new mode, the titular Royal Reverie mode where you play as the King of All Cosmos.

Other new features for the We Love Katamari remaster include a photo mode of sorts (just selfies), a BGM selector and an Eternal Mode so you can keep rolling forever.

We Love Katamari will see you reprise the role of the little prince as he is tasked by the King Of All Cosmos to roll up a katamari. It’s a big ball clump made up of everything that can stick on it. From small textbooks to cows and people to entire landmasses.

The game boasts a charming aesthetic, all bright colours, quirky characters, and a jazzin’ soundtrack all to balance out the horror that is working under a time limit.

If you played the Katamari Damacy before, the OG release or the recent remaster, We Love Katamari should be more Katamari, so it should be good fun.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie will be out on June 1 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, and June 2 for PC via Steam.
