Publishers Bigben has previously announced they have two games based on the World Of Darkness IP. One of which is a narrative RPG by Big Bad Wolf Studio (The Council) based on Vampire: The Masquerade.
That game has a full name now as revealed at PDXCon. It’s called Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong.
It will be based on the tabletop Vampire: The Masquerade V5 rulebook and features three playable characters. These three vampires are all part of the Camarilla- the main authority of the vampires- but from different clans. The character’s paths are intertwined, so you will be seeing multiple perspectives of the games being played within the top dogs of the Camarilla.
“At the studio, we’re long-time and passionate fans of the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade, “ says Thomas Veauclin, Creative and Art Director at Big Bad Wolf. “We have wanted to create a video game inspired by this universe for several years now.
“This project fits perfectly with Bigben’s desire to expand its catalogue of narrative games. We are very happy to be unveiling it together.”
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is still early in development, with an expected release date in 2021. Bloodlines 2, the sequel to the cult-hit RPG, coming in late 2020. And Corteries Of New York, also a narrative game but not really an RPG, is coming out later this year. It’s a good time to be a Vampire: The Masquerade fan.
