Ubisoft’s Uplay PC launcher will be getting a rebrand. Starting October 29, it will be called Ubisoft Connect. Similarly, the Ubisoft Club mobile app will be rebranded to this.
Ubisoft has combined the two apps into one, and making it available on Pc, iOS and Android.
Ubisoft Connect will show you what your friends on your Ubisoft account are playing, what achievements they have unlocked, and other stats. And it’s not tied to the PC either- the stats and data also can come from consoles.
In addition, the latest Ubisoft releases now support cross-progression (or cross-saves) so you can switch from consoles to PC (or a different console) and still carry over your saves. Game saves are now tied to the Ubisoft account via Ubisoft Connect.
The latest releases that support cross-saves includes:
- Hyper Scape
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Riders Republic
New games will have a challenge system that rewards units for unlocking achievements, but older titles will just give away those points to you straight-away. You can spend units to unlock new in-game items, or the more worthy use- get a 20% discount on your next Ubisoft Store. This is a carry over from the Ubisoft Club.
If you already have Uplay, you don’t need to download anything- the PC app will change to Ubisoft Connect come October 29. Similarly, the Ubisoft Club app on mobile will be changed to Ubisoft Connect. You can also access to Ubisoft Connect within newer Ubisoft games.
