In the game of life of The Sims 4, you can have Sims marry by throwing a simple wedding party. But what if you want it to be as grandiose of an occasion as actual real-life wedding parties?
That’s where the new My Wedding Stories game pack comes in. This game pack (smaller than an expansion, but more substantial than Stuff Packs and Kits thanks to a lot of new gameplay mechanics) expands on the process of getting hitched. Plus the addition of a new world: Tartosa.
With the My Wedding Stores game pack, Sims can now participate in multiple pre-wedding activities. You can pick what ring to wear, throw engagement parties, and also bachelor/bachelorette parties for one last singles night out. And you can prepare for the big day with rehearsal dinners- you can even opt to have toasts, speeches, pick the food, gifts, have a dance or not and also pick the Sim of Honour.
You can also plan how the wedding ceremony will have as well. You can opt for a dance session (or not), pick a venue (Tartosa has quite the selection of romantic locales just for the occasion), pick the bouquet to toss from the local flower cart, and even customise the wedding cake at the local patisserie shop. You can pick your wedding attire too, including tuxedos and henna.
Oh, you can also opt for a Family Gathering tea ceremony seen in traditional Chinese weddings, and have a flower pal and ring bearer present for the big moment.
The wedding will be memorialised with photos and the honeymoon trip right after. And once the couple grows old, you can have them do a Vow Renewal, a simple wedding ceremony of sorts to reaffirm their love.
If you love to immerse in the life of your created characters which The Sims can offer, this looks to be a nice addition along the lines of the Parenthood game pack. It doesn’t feel like an essential pack to have, but for those that do, it seems to offer enough of its selling point: giving your Sims a memorable day when they say “I Do” in Simlish.
The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories game pack will be out on February 17 on PS4, PC (Steam, Origin), and Xbox One.
