The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match Out Now On PS4, Featuring Rollback Netcode And More

Fans of classic KOF, especially KOF 2002, good news. The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match (UM) is now available on PS4, including on PS Store Asia.

KOF 2002 UM brings a number of online features. For one, it now has rollback netcode. Which makes inputs to register as intended while playing online matches.

You also have the ability to watch the replays of the last 10 online matches (for those that want to study their matches), and some nice quality-of-life options. Such as the option to enable/disable win/loss counters and a cooldown to give yourself buffer time before you will be matchmaking into another fight.

There are ranked online matches and casual online matches too.

As for the game itself, expect to see it be on par with previous releases on the platforms like Steam. This is a remake from 2009 that adjusted many things from the original 2002 game, like remastered BGM, overhauled graphics and reworks to some of its core mechanics, like cancellable Desperation Moves.

But rollback netcode is certainly new. It was first tested on the PC release, and has since been implemented there as an update. That online improvement is why SNK is now bringing KOF 2002 UM to PS4.

The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match (UM) is out now on PS4. On PS Store Asia, it’s priced at RM65.
