You see one gaming chair, you’ve seen it all. They are mostly racing seats that are comfy for long sitting sessions with not much difference other than the material used and the brand.
Acer is having none of that.
At the Next@Acer event at Berlin yesterday, the presentation ended with Acer introducing the most ridiculous gaming chair called the Predator Thronos. It’s not just a gaming chair, there is vibration support, there’s a foot rest and there’s a overhead brace where you can mount up to three 27-inch monitors. The whole setup can also be reclined up to 140 degrees. Plus, there’s a spot to setup your PC rig too. Arm rests and a surface to place your peripherals are also included.
The Predator Thronos looks more like an arcade cabinet for a flying game. Or freaky cockpit from a sci-fi movie.
Acer is pushing this as “the gamer’s cave” and the name itself- Thronos – derives from the latin word for throne. It’s ridiculous, and they know it.
Of course, no pricing was announced. But it’s good to see the folks at Acer continues to make ridiculous gaming devices like this. It’s about time we rethink the definition of the gaming chair. Now, if there’s some way to make these affordable..
