EA will be revealing a new Star Wars game. The title, Star Wars Zero Company, is described as a “single-player turn-based tactics game coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.”
Development of the game is lead by new developer Bit Reactor, working with Respawn.
Bit Reactor includes talents that previously worked at Firaxis, specifically the XCOM and Civilization series. According to PC Gamer, at least 15 of them are ex-Firaxis people including co-founder/CEO/creative director Greg Foertsch and lead animator Hector Antunez.
More will be revealed of the game on April 19. Whether this is actually just Star Wars-flavoured XCOM, or a completely different game like the brilliantly underrated Marvel’s Midnight Suns, we’ll have to wait until then to know.
EA and Respawn are working on three Star Wars games, which they announced back in 2022. One is what we now know as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the other is a new FPS, and the third game, the strategy game, is now revealed as Star Wars: Zero Company.
EA used to have exclusive deal with Lucasfilm for the rights of making Star Wars games. But the publisher still is investing in making more games in this much-beloved IP.
