Right until now, we know that Sony’s PlayStation 5 is coming to November 12 in the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. And November 19 for the rest of the world.
However, details of local pricing of the PS5 in several regions in Southeast Asia is still missing. For example in Malaysia, we only received information regarding the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure coming to the PS4. No details of the PS5 were shared for the country ever since the reveal.
MP1st spotted that in several Southeast Asia countries, namely Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, the PS5 homepage has stopped showing the “Holiday 2020” release window.
Singapore is the exception, as Sony has not only shared launch details for the country, but also opened its second pre-order slots.
A Sony representative has reached out to MP1st and has responded with this:
We can confirm that the PS5 will also become available in MY/TH/ID/PH/VN and that we are currently in the process of preparation towards the launch.
SIES will make announcement on MY/TH/PH/ID/VN release dates and pricing when we are ready. Please keep a lookout for our local announcements on PS5 release in respective countries.
So for now, we will have to wait until when Sony is ready to announce launch and price details for Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The wait shall unfortunately continue.
