A new update is for Sucker Punch’s open world action-adventure game Ghost Of Yōtei will arrive next week, on November 24.
The update adds New Game Plus, allowing players who finished the game to restart Atsu’s journey for vengeance with all unlocks carried over. Like the announcement PlayStation Blog says, you can “bring a gun to a sword fight,” literally.
Not only that, there will be new harder difficulty options for the sickos who strive for samurai perfection. The already available difficulty options are tough enough for some of us, but apparently there’s more to it.
A new currency called Ghost Flowers will now drop, allowing you to trade with a new vendor (Masujiro The Melodious) that has 30 new cosmetics. These includes whole-new armour sets (which do have gameplay stats) as well as weapon dyes (there’s more colours for non-sword weapons, which was lacking at launch) on top of 10 new charms (equippable passives). Additional armour sets and weapons can also be upgraded to an additional tier.
Photo Mode gets some additions too, with the ability to adjust shutter speed, a composition grid and new filters being added.
The updates are all nice-to-haves that don’t really change the fundamental experience of Ghost Of Yōtei. Not that it needs changing.
There’s more updates to Ghost Of Yōtei to come, including the addition of Ghost Of Yōtei Legends, the co-op multiplayer mode, set to arrive next year.
Ghost Of Yōtei is out now on PS5. Check out our review of the game here.
