Sonic really is inviting all his friends across the world (and worlds) to his new racing game, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The game has officially revealed the final DLC character pack in the first season: Mega Man.
The Mega Man DLC pack will bring in Capcom’s iconic android, and Proto Man, as playable racers. Plus, a new track based on Dr. Wily’s Castle will be available. The trailer shows off Mega Man’s signature car as well as remix of Mega Man 2’s iconic opening theme.
Between Minecraft’s Steve and Alex, Pac-Man and Mega Man, all the video game-based DLC characters have appeared alongside Sonic in a certain, particular platform fighter by Nintendo. Not saying it’s a pattern, but it is a funny coincidence that these specific characters are getting called up to Sonic’s own crossover game.
To recap, the Season 1 wave of DLC adds characters and tracks from Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Pac-Man and Mega Man. Free post-launch characters include Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5 and Ichiban Kasuga from the Like A Dragon series.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. The PC versions on Steam and Epic Games Store in Asia will be released one day later, on September 26. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is coming at a later date.
