Rockstar is known for releasing very little information about their games, teasing bit by bit until a full information breakdown is available once a game is near completion and release. So to see Rockstar suddenly upload this red, slightly tattered version of their logo on their Twitter, as a post on the Rockstar Newswire is interesting. Most likely because the colour scheme and tattered look reminded most people of Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead Redemption was a successful open world third-person action game that takes place near the end of the age of the Wild West. This was not the first of its kind, as the initial game was by Angel Studios (now Rockstar San Diego) of a third-person spaghetti western theme game called Red Dead Revolver, a game Rockstar helped salvaged and saved as it went into development hell.
But this sparks the question? What sort of a new Red Dead will we see? Red Dead Redemption 2 might seem odd since it has a definite end to the story. Maybe a new Red Dead, which shares its Western theme but takes another new angle different from Revolver and Redemption? Or maybe it’s a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, based on the rumours we heard early this year.
Whatever it is, Rockstar is up to something. Aside from providing content to GTA Online, like the recent Bikers update, they must be working on something else, don’t they?
UPDATE 17/10/16: Now there’s a new image being teased on Rockstar’s Twitter (below). Speculate away!
