Rise Of The Ronin Now Has A Free Demo

PlayStation announced that a free demo for Team Ninja’s open-world soulslike Rise Of The Ronin is now available.

This will allow you to play the opening part of the game, at least the first two hours, enough to reach the first decision-making moment. Save data can be transferred over to the full game.

You can download the demo here.

For those looking to try out an open world game set in the olden times of Japan where samurais roam the land, Rise Of The Ronin will scratch that itch. Set in the Bakumatsu period, you play as your own customised samurai who found themselves taking part in a historical moment that will form modern-day Japan. And you get to choose which side of history you wish to align with, the pro-Shogunate faction or the anti-Shogunate faction.

The open world gameplay may be a bit too samey and formulaic, but Team Ninja’s brand of “masocore” brand of methodical combat is still one of the best in soulslikes and action RPGs in general. If you prefer to get good and memorise patterns by parrying rather than dodge-rolling, Rise Of The Ronin is the game you want to play.

Rise Of The Ronin is out now on PS5. Check out our review here.
