Whoa there cowboy. Red Dead Redemption 2, the sequel to the successful open-world adventure set near the end times of the Wild West (and the third Red Dead game), is getting a delay. Rockstar first unveiled the title and was set to release sometime in fall (around October) this year, but a recent announcement has pushed the release to spring 2018 (April-June).
No specific reason was stated for the delay.”Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.” This will be the first game Rockstar is making with the new generation of hardware, the PS4 and Xbox One, in mind. Their last game, Grand Theft Auto V, was first released for the last generation of consoles first.

While it is a bit disappointing to hear, we now at least have one big game to anticipate for 2018. If it means it’s a more polished product at launch, a delay is for the better, so let them take their time.
