Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Gets 20th Anniversary Armor Pack As Free DLC

It’s been 20 years since the original Ratchet & Clank game debuted on the PS2. Time flies. To celebrate the occasion, developer Insomniac Games has released a new free DLC for the latest game, 2021’s Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.

The Ratchet & Clank 20th Anniversary Armor Pack adds five new armour inspired by the many different fits our furry fuzzball of a mechanic-turned-galactic-hero has worn over the past two decades. There are some deep cuts too- shoutout to the edgy Marauder armour from Ratchet: Deadlocked for making a comeback.

The five new armours are as follows:

  • Commando Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
  • Holoflux Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
  • Quest Armor inspired by Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty
  • Marauder Armor inspired by Ratchet: Deadlocked
  • Clank Armor to celebrate the greatest of pals

The free DLC requires update v.1.004 to be downloaded.

In other news, PlayStation is adding the rest of the Ratchet & Clank games to PS Plus Premium. So by November 15, all the console Ratchet games outside of Rift Apart can be played on a PS Plus Premium subscription.

But, all the titles before the PS4 era (which is all the games outside of Ratchet & Clank (2016)) are the PS3 ports. Folks who live in countries where PS Plus Premium is replaced with PS Plus Deluxe due to no support for cloud game streaming won’t be able to take advantage of this.
