Quantic Dream Now Has A New Indie Publishing Label

Quantic Dream, the developer behind fascinating, most beautiful yet flawed narrative games is now branching out with a new indie publishing label: Spotlight by Quantic Dream.

Spotlight by Quantic Dream helps indie developers as early as during the concept stage and provides services which include “project financing and production support, artistic and technical advice, and the sharing of Quantic Dream teams’ expertise in user testing, quality assurance and localisation”. Plus, Quantic Dream even gives access to the motion capture and performance studio, photogrammetry rig and Dolby Atmos-certified sound studio.

With the experience and track record of Quantic Dream’s releases, that’s some massive resources available for the indie devs signed to publish under the label.

“Quantic Dream is a video game development studio that has been making its own games for 26 years. Having gone through the process of producing and publishing titles many times, we know the many challenges a studio will inevitably face and how to overcome them to make a good game,” says Guillaume de Fondaumière, CEO of Quantic Dream and Head of Publishing.

“Spotlight by Quantic Dream is our way of highlighting the independent studios we believe in and of supporting their passion for their projects with all the expertise and resources of our own development studio and experienced editorial team. This label is also a guarantee of quality for gamers and the community that has supported us for many years: it tells them that we have carefully selected these games and supported the team that created them.”

Spotlight by Quantic Dream’s first published game was back in 2021 with the release of Sea Of Solitude: The Director’s Cut by developer Jo-Mei. The original release for that game was under the EA Originals label.

At Summer Game Fest 2023, Spotlight by Quantic Dream announced two new games. The first is Under The Waves, an underwater narrative adventure which includes awareness-raising messages from Surfrider Foundation Europe. The game is developed by Parallel Studio and set for release on August 29 for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.

The other game revealed is Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior. In development for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) by Sand Door Studio, the title began life as a student project which won the 2020 Grand Jury Prize at ISART Digital and Best Student Video Game at the 2021 Pégases Awards.

Quantic Dream is now under NetEase Games.
