Hot of the heels of the acquiring Puzzle Quest developers Infinity Plus Two, 505 Games announced Puzzle Quest 3.
The next instalment of the puzzle-RPG hybrid free-to-play game will be a multi-platform release. The last numbered entry, Puzzle Quest 2, was first released back in 2010, so it’s about time for a sequel, especially now under new onwership.
Puzzle Quest 3 will take place over 500 years after the original game’s story where “players will embark on a heroic journey across Etheria to discover the meaning behind the ancient Red Dragon’s dying words.” Expect the same match-3 puzzling paired with RPG mechanics, but now will take place in a 3D world.
505 Games are also looking for local companies in Southeast Asia to potentially publish the game in this region. The publishers have a history of working with local publishers in certain markets, like Control has different local publishers for Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
