PUBG Mobile is celebrating the arrival of Ramadan with a set of silly, but cultured, new cosmetics for the free-to-play mobile game.
Starting March 23, players can unlock the Nasi Lemak Hat, Nasi Lemak Glasses and the Roti John Machete in the Redeem Shop. The cosmetics requires the Ocean Crystals currency.
Now hold that thought and take it in, two of Malaysia’s favourite food items are now a cosmetic.
The wildest one is turning Roti John into a machete skin. Roti John is an omelette sandwich created using oblong bread- which makes it a perfect stand-in for a melee weapon.
But it’s not a fully-stuffed baguette in real-life though, Roti John is usually served with copious amounts of chilli sauce and mayonnaise (so it can get really, really soggy) and is usually cut in slider-sized bites for sharing.
Still, having the PUBG mascot guy (let’s just say he’s John PUBG) weaponising a Roti John is the silly fun we need to see.
Of course, the other cosmetic set is an outfit made out of Nasi Lemak. We leave you to decide if wearing a Nasi Lemak hat where the sambal is dripping over is something worth wearing in your hunt for chicken dinners.
Alongside the cosmetics, PUBG Mobile is also running a limited-time event: “Nasi Lemak – Tapau All!” until March 29. These special Ramadan missions will award you with the full Nasi Lemak Set (Nasi Lemak Suit, Nasi Lemak Glasses, Nasi Lemak Hat) and be the true Nasi Lemak Person.
PUBG Mobile is currently celebrating its 5th year anniversary with the release of World Of Wonder. There’s also the opportunity to unlock and drive a Bugatti.
The game is available now on iOS and Android.
