nWay’s Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid has morphed itself into a legit fighting game. And what better way to seal the deal than adding in DLC featuring the genres’ most iconic characters, in Power Rangers form.
Ryu and Chun-Li will be joining the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid roster as part of the Street Fighter Pack DLC. The two retain their familiar movesets- Ryu still spams Hadouken and can do Shoryukens as you can see here.
The catch is that the two will appear in Power Rangers getup. Ryu is the Crimson Hawk Ranger and Chunners is the Blue Phoenix Ranger. Despite the helmets and tight costume, they are still clearly the Street Fighter characters you’ve seen and heard before.
The two characters first appeared in the mobile fighting game Power Rangers Legacy Wars. So it’s good to see them back here on a PC/console fighting game.
The Street Fighter Pack DLC will be released on May 25 which will inlcude Ryu, Chun-Li and “exclusive skins” to be revealed later. A new edition of Battle For The Grid, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid – Super Edition will include all DLCs so far (Season 1,2,3), the Street Figther Pack and 4 bonus character skins.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is out now on PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
