Here’s an interesting on a colony builder/sim. Upstairs Games is set to launch Possible One: Lunar Industries into Early Access later this month.
Possible One: Lunar Industries tasked you into building a lunar colony in… well, the moon. And this isn’t a sci-fi game. The tech you’ll be using in establishing humankind’s foothold on this celestial body is based on real-world technologies. A more grounded take of colony building on the grounds where you are a sixth lighter than on Earth.
Like any colony/settlement builder, Possible One: Lunar Industries has survival elements, in that it’s under you direct supervision to ensure the colonists are safe and sound. Some of the dangers these folks will face includes radiation exposure, psychological strain of isolation (from being far from Earth) and even low-gravity living conditions.
You’re not here just to say humans can live on the moon, however. As the title implies, you’re expected to also excavate and harvest lunar resources to be turned into products to be turned into profits that hopefully soar so high that people will ironically shout “to the moon!” despite the profits were, in fact, already there as it were.
This is only tangentially related, but you’re looking to check out another unexpected theme for a settlement builder, check out Dig In. That one’s based on World War I and there’s trench digging.
Possible One: Lunar Industries launches into Early Access on PC (Steam) on May 22.
