Porsches, Porsches everywhere. After being freed from the shackles of an exclusivity deal with EA, cars from the German marque have now appeared in almost every upcoming sim racer. It’s now sponsoring Forza’s esports circuit the Forza Racing Championship, it will be featured in Sony’s upcoming Gran Turismo Sport, and will now also be featured in Project CARS 2.
According to GTPlanet, there are at least nine different cars that are now confirmed to be included on the sim racer’s release, they are:
- 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
- 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 R
- 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport
- 1998 Porsche 911 GT1
- 1984 Porsche 962C
- 1984 Porsche 962C Langheck
- 1977 Porsche 935
- 1976 Porsche 936
The last one is the Porsche 918 Spyder. With the Ferrari La Ferrari and McLaren P1 already included, Project CARS 2 will have the modern hypercar trinity in the sim racer from the get go.
Alongside the reveal, a new promo video was released detailing how Porsche factory driver Patrick Long contributed to developers Slightly Mad Studios by providing feedback to make the Porsches feel more realistic.

Project CARS 2 is slated for release sometime later this year on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
