Political Sim Democracy 4 Out Now In Early Access

Fed up with the current state of your government? You should go and vote for a change, but also check this game out. The latest entry to the politcal sim Democracy is out now on PC in Early Access form.

Take the role of the President or Prime Minister and govern it to your liking. Instate new policies (or remove old ones), enforce or loosen laws and rule as you see fit. Though each move you make will either make certain demographics happy or upset, and can lead to rippling consequences.

The fourth entry provides a cleaner UI (you’ll be staring at dots, graphs and icons a lot), and includes new features like media reports, coalition governments, emergency powers and three-party systems.

The sim also has a more sophisticated way of handling inflation and corruption. The sequel also includes new policy ideas seen in current times like quantitative easing, helicopter money, universal basic income quantitative easing, helicopter money and universal basic income. Democracy 4 is also not shying away with current political topics, with includes police body cameras, transgender rights and more.

If you like the idea of seeing how certain political ideas can fit within a certain country, or want to see the rippling implications of particular policies (say, legalising drugs), Democracy 4 can do that.

In times like this, Democracy 4 might be worth checking out. The Early Access version only has two countries, and balance may be a bit wonky (so don’t use this as a tool to justify any political beliefs). More options of what countries to rule, more language support, and more content (more policies, dilemmas and events) will be added throughout the Early Access period.

Democracy 4 is out now on Steam (for RM51) and Epic Games Store in Early Access.
