Plague Inc., the simulator that lets you create a dangerous virus and spread it into a worldwide pandemic got really popular early this year. For obvious reasons. But now developer Ndemic Creations have released a new expansion, free.
Titled The Cure, the expansion is made with the help from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI), World Health Organisation (WHO) and Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN).
As you can guess, the expansion flips Plague Inc.’s premise- now you are fighting the plague. You’ll have to find patient zero, control the outbreak from spreading and develop a vaccine. It also simulates the economical effects of a pandemic, as we are experiencing right now.
Ndemic states that this is not a 100% representation of how fighting a pandemic works, but it should give you a perspective on how massive the effects of a pandemic are, and how much work it is to get it under control.
Plague Inc. The Cure is a free expansion available now on mobile, and coming soon to PC and consoles. It will be free until Covid-19 is under control. It’s weird to say this, but let’s hope the expansion stops being free soon.
