Pixel Art RPG Artis Impact Releases This August, New Demo Coming Soon

Artis Impact, the RPG developed by solo developer Mas from Malaysia, gets a new trailer showcased at the 2025 Six One Indie Showcase and announced a new demo.

The new demo, Artis Impact: Meiji Spa, will be available as part of Steam Next Fest, from June 9-16. This is a “self-contained experience” set in a hot spring resort that’s supposed to be more relaxing, but there is an unexpected boss battle somewhere.

The demo should give players a peek at what Artis Impact is all about, in particular those silky-smooth pixel art animations. How does one person do all of these? The artist sure made an impact here.

And rather serendipitously, despite the game being in development since 2019, Artis Impact is the story of a future world as shaped by AI. Akane and her companion Bot will go through “emotional journeys” and turn-based combat. Combat is supposed to be light and streamlined, as the focus of the game is to deliver a story that balances “dark, captivating narratives” with “cosy and humorous moments.”

It’s essentially a JRPG. And fans looking for a JRPG experience should put Artis Impact on their radar.

(Side note: if French-made JRPG-inspired RPGs are being billed as Je’RPG, what does a Malaysian-made JRPG-inspired RPGs should be called? “RPG je.”)

Artis Impact releases on August 7 on PC (Steam).
