It looks like Microsoft is finally making the move we wanted to see for so long, making Xbox Game Pass available in more countries in Southeast Asia outside of Singapore.
This will start with making PC Game Pass available in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Xbox Insider Program is currently hosting a public preview of what it’s calling the PC Game Pass Southeast Asia Market Expansion. Users of the Xbox Insider app (download here) can join this public preview program.
Once you have opt-in to the program, you can subscribe to PC Game Pass for only RM0.50 for the duration of the preview.
UPDATE 30/03/22: Previously, the reported initial price for the subscription was RM1. However, a Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed that, as seen when you try to subscribe to it, the initial price is actually RM.50. Yep, 50 cents until the end of the preview. Normal pricing of PC Game Pass will be RM15 per month.
PC Game Pass, the re-christened Xbox Game Pass For PC, includes over 100 games in the games subscription service. This includes all of Xbox Game Studios’ first-party titles like Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, and Sea Of Thieves. The service also includes a subscription to EA Play as well, giving you access to EA’s catalog of games like the Mass Effect series, FIFA and The Sims 4.
The full launch of PC Game Pass to more countries in SEA is expected to be sometime later this year.
