Overwatch League – Houston Outlaws Are Coming To Town
Yee haw! OpTic Gaming’s Overwatch League spot isn’t shying away with the city’s cowboy imagery. The logos- made of a Lone Star and a pair of revolvers that forms a longhorn skull, as well as the name pays tribute to the regions’ rebellious and fearless nature.
The odd green and black colours will make more sense if you know OpTic beforehand. That’s the Green Wall’s signature colours.
OpTic never had an Overwatch roster prior to the Overwatch League, and their choices pretty much follows on their branding. Rather than picking up the many great players from South Korea, Houton Outlaws picked a mix of North American and Europe players. They are:
- Austin “Muma” Wilmot
- Matt “Coolmatt” Iorio
- Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty
- Lucas “Mendokusaii” Håkansson
- Jiri “LiNkzr” Masalin
- Daniel “Boink” Pence
- Chris “Bani” Bennell
- Jacob “JAKE” Lyon
- Matt “Clockwork” Dias
- Alexandre “SPREE” Vanhomwegen
Most of these players once played together as FNRGFE- an independent team made of former players of various organisations. Rawkus and SPREE were formerly of FaZe Clan, and LiNkzr, Mendokusaii and JAKE were star DPS players for Team Giganti, Cloud9 and LG Evil respectively.
These look good on paper, but the question is can they keep up with the South Koreans? We sure hope they could.
