Funselekteor and Strelka Games’ chill open world overlanding game Over The Hill now has a release date. It will arrive on PC first in October, with console releases for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 arriving next year in 2027.
The next game from the makers of Absolute Drift, Art Of Rally and Golden Lap is a more cosy and intimate car driving experience, and possibly the biggest: Over The Hill already has 1.2 million Steam wishlists, with over 500,000 players tried the demo.
In Over The Hill, navigate and explore the outdoors tackling rough terrain around the way. The game supports four-player multiplayer but also playable solo. Make use of planks, winches and other equipment as vehicles can be stuck. Yes, Over The Hill is the kind of game where off-roading is a challenge, where clearing a short rocky climb is a momentous moment and not something you hold gas and immediately clear with ease. But maybe not as hardcore as your Spintires and Mudrunners, Over The Hill has that cosy game vibe all over it with its colourful world and twangy soundtrack.
The open world of Over The Hill is designed to be worth exploring, filled with natural viewpoints and landmarks, remote cabins to discover and native wildlife.
The vehicles you drive in Over The Hill naturally can be customised, with upgrades and equiipment found at merchants and cabins.
If the outdoor off-roading calls to you, like millions do, Over The Hill will be out on PC (Steam) on October 14, and to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
