Old World, Mohawk Games’ 4X strategy game, now has a new paid DLC in the form of Wonders & Dynasties. It’s out now.
Wonders & Dynasties deepens Old World by adding over 100 new dynasty-related events and 21 new character traits. In addition, there are now 30 new dynasty leaders, each with unique starting modifiers. Plus, 120 new historical characters from the Classical Age will also make an appearance with this DLC.
This is on top of the eight new world wonders you can build including the Royal Library and the Heliopolis.
The Wonders & Dynasties DLC is similar to The Sacred and Profane DLC in that it’s a flavour bomb that enhances the main game with new content. Which is pretty much a welcome addition.
Old World, designed by Soren Johnson (lead designer of Civilization IV), explores a very specific timeline of human civilisation- the Classical Age, or the Old World. The 4X game brings some elements of grand strategy in that you control a dynasty, whose ruler can marry, have kids and die similar to the Crusader Kings series. And it has an interesting twist of a tech tree that plays not like any 4X game. But it does scratch the same Civilization itch for those looking to immerse and sink time.
The Wonders & Dynasties DLC for Old World is out now on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.
