The next God Of War, which may or may not be called God Of War: Ragnarok, has been delayed.
Teased to be coming in 2021, developers Santa Monica Studio has tweeted that will not be the case.
“We remain focused on delivering a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of our team, creative partners and families,” the tweet reads.
“With this in mind, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window to 2022.”
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected many people in the world, so hearing another game development schedule affected by it is an understandable reason for a delay.
Other than that teaser, there’s really not much else to go about what’s coming to in the new adventures of Kratos and son Atreus. But the events of God Of War (2018) has clearly set up a big continuation for this sequel.
In another separate news, PlayStation Studio head Herman Hulst has revealed that the new God Of War and Gran Turismo 7 is now also coming to PS4 as well as for PS5, joining Horizon: Forbidden West as upcoming PlayStation cross-gen releases.
