Judas is the new game from Ghost Story Games, the new studio led by creative director Ken Levine of Bioshock fame. From its debut trailer, Judas revealed itself as a narrative FPS with a teaser of things to come.
At the January 2024 State Of Play, a new trailer for Judas is revealed, showing more gameplay. And boy, it sure looks a lot like Bioshock, huh?
The moment-to-moment gameplay has gunplay and magic-like abilities conjuring from the off-hand. And the left hand has some sort of marking on it too.
A lot of members of the now-defunct Irrational Games, the makers of Bioshock, are involved in Judas. So it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that this looks like Bioshock. But another team at 2K is working on a new Bioshock. So Take-Two will have two narrative FPS in the works right now. (Ghost Story Games is a Take-Two studio, but not attached to any of its publishing labels.)
Still, the premise of Judas sounds intriguing. The trailer asks who is Judas, and what you see is mostly the Mayflower, a spacefaring city where the game takes place in.
Judas has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
