New PS5 System Update Should Stop The Console Installing The PS4 Version Of A PS5 Game

PS5 update version 20.02-02.50.00 has now been released on February 3.

The software update fixes a very specific problem, as worded by the PlayStation, as:

“In rare cases, the PS4 version of a game would install from the disc after you upgraded to and installed the PS5 version. Now, when you insert the PS4 game disc, the PS4 version won’t install unexpectedly.”

So, if you have a PS4 disc, got the next-gen upgrade to a PS5 version of it installed, the next time you put the PS4 game disc to play it, the console won’t be installing the PS4 version of it.

A very specific problem, now solved.

Other than that, expect to see improvements to system performance, and the ability to select and edit video clips from the media gallery in Share Factory Studio.
