A new update for Mafia: The Old Country is now live. The Free Ride Update, as it’s dubbed, brings new content to the linear action-adventure game.
New combat challenges and races (both in cars and on horseback) have been added. The combat challenges are locked behind story progression, so more will be unlocked as you play.
You can also now drive in the first-person.
A new photo mode has been added for virtual shutterbugs, with unique filters available.
Taking a page out of Ghost Of Yōtei, presumably, Mafia: The Old Country is introducing Cinema Siciliano, a cinematic mode that tints the visuals in black and white reminiscent of “vintage Italian movies.”
For diehard Mafia fans, Classic Difficulty is added where health and ammo management becomes more crucial, in similar veins to the earlier Mafia games that follows the 2000s and earlier video game’s game design philosophy where health and ammo are scarce resources.
In addition to all of that, the Mafia: The Old Country Free Ride update also adds new vehicles, guns, knives, outfits and charms.
The Mafia: The Old Country Free Ride update is free, and will go live later today at November 20, 11 AM ET (11 PM Malaysia Time, +8 GMT).
Mafia: The Old Country is out now on PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
