New Lords Of The Fallen II Trailer Reveals Katana, New Regions And Launch Window

At Summer Game Fest 2026, CI Games dropped a new trailer for Lords Of The Fallen II, sequel to Lords Of The Fallen (2023) (formerly known as The Lords Of The Fallen and, at one point in time, Lords Of The Fallen II). The upcoming soulslike action-RPG isn’t quite ready to lock in a release date, but just brave enough to say it’s coming this Fall (September-November).

What they’re ready to reveal was the new weapon class, katana. As one of the most popular requests from fans (alongside scythes, which has been confirmed), the addition of katanas also come along with a new biome inspired by Asian mythology, called Ysiguen. Lords 2023 is heavily inspired by medieval Europe imagery, which is all fine, but it’s interesting to see the world expands beyond that for the sequel.

If you just prefer an oversized greatswords, there are still there, as seen prominently in the new trailer.

For fans of the game’s heavy metal album cover aesthetic of twisted takes on medieval imagery, one of the enemies seen here, the Scion, is an angel with huge wings, but instead of feathers, there are all made out of arms.

She got hands, for sure.

Lords Of The Fallen II promises an aggressive combat style with “a substantially improved combat system designed to feel faster, more responsive, and more satisfying than ever before.” In other words, it’s leaning more towards Sekiro in pace rather than Demon’s Souls. Both are valid interpretations of soulslikes, but with gameplay feel different enough to have fans of a genre that should have a better name “soulslikes” to be a fan of one but not the other.

The combat improvements are the result of taking lessons from the 2023 title, listening to feedback, and iterating on it with over 70 post-launch updates that overtime dramatically change how the game feels and plays.

Speaking of the 2023 game, Lords Of The Fallen (2023) is currently on sale across all platforms and the “Precious Metals Armour Tincts” DLC that was exclusively available for pre-orders is now available for everyone.

Lords Of The Fallen II will be out later this year for the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
