The hype is real. Just in time for gamescom, Bandai Namco released another trailer for the much anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ. So far new characters (or “fighterz” as the trailer calls it) have been revealed in Japanese magazines, but this is the first time we see them in video form.
Android 18 and 17 appear to be a pair of characters. Piccolo and his stretchy limbs is shown going face-to-face with Krillin. Android 16 seems to be the main baddie here- a peak into the Story suggests an invasion is about to happen. Developers Arc System Works have dabbled with story modes before, but not in full cinematic form as suggested from the trailer, which will be interesting to see.
From our hands-on at PSX SEA 2017, Dragon Ball Fighterz is certainly easy to pick and play from a casual player’s perspective, with a lot of nods and reverence to the source material that Dragon Ball fans will surely appreciate.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be out in February 2018 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
