MindsEye, the game that’s headed by former Rockstar Games president, Leslie Benzies, and his team at Built A Rocket Boy Games, were present during the recent PlayStation State of Play showcase with not one, but two trailers that the head honcho himself also presented with the first look of its gameplay.
MindsEyes sees you in the character of Jacob Diaz (played by Alex Hernandez, aka Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3), a former soldier who’s being haunted by flashbacks of a covert mission after being fitted with the mysterious neural implant, coming to a new city to uncover the truth.
Here, we get to see some glimpses of Redrock, the city we’re going to explore that’s set in a near-future aesthetic with enemies, drones and Rescue bots galore.
The gameplay trailer does show some set-pieces that we get to encounter, alongside some shots of the driving mechanics, which does have some similarity to a certain open-world action title, by the looks of how the car handles and camera sway during those driving bits.
And one other thing to note, there’s no mention of Everywhere, their Builders tool set akin to the Fortnite Creator tools, since them partnering with IO Interactive. Perhaps it is for the best as they are streamlining towards a release soon.
MindsEye is set to release on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series Consoles sometime this Summer.
