Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Trailer Shows Two Spider-Men In Action

Insomniac Games’ upcoming sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man gets a big showing as the finale of the PlayStation Showcase 2023. And there are a lot of new details being revealed since the original teaser.

For one, the single-player game shows off how you will be switching control between the two established Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The full mission sequence sees the game having you switch controls between the two, each having a slightly different moveset.

Speaking of moveset, Pete looks very different this time. He dons the Black Suit and can use Symbiote powers in this game. If you’re worried the OG Spider-Man will feel less fun to play with compared to Miles, who has access to more fun abilities seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales compared to Pete’s array of gadgets from the original game, then don’t. Both characters will make use of the L1 button a lot.

Miles also picked up some new tricks. He has a wingsuit now so you can play Just Cause in Spider-Man 2. And for stealth, the new Web Line gadget allows players to create their own paths to sneak and take down enemies.

As for villains, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will see the duo fight off Kraven The Hunter, who brings an entourage of goons and arsenal, as well as Lizard.

Despite all the big showing, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 still hasn’t locked in a release date yet. It’s coming out in Fall 2023 (late September at the earliest) for the PS5.
