Here’s another upcoming highly-specific simulation game. Arcade Paradise, by Nosebleed Interactive (Vostok Inc) will see you turning an old laundromat into a retro arcade parlour filled with arcade machines.
As Ashley, you will running the day-to-day business of the arcade. You will be investing in new arcade machines, as well as doing simple chores to keep the place running. And also listen to your nagging father (voiced by Doug Cockle) as he calls you from time to time.
These arcade machines are not just for show either. You can insert a coin yourself and play through 35 different arcade games. Not actual ones- these seem to be all made specifically for this game.
But that just makes it more interesting. There’s an incredible range of homages too- from the early vector graphics games up to the 32-bit era of arcade goodness.
Arcade Paradise is also made to evoke ’90s nostalgia. From period-appropriate music to having to use a PC with a dial-up connection.
Arcade Paradise is coming to the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch sometime this year.
