Love The New HD Assets In Starcraft Remastered? Thank Malaysian-Based Lemon Sky For That

Have you noticed more and more gaming studios in Malaysia are contributing to big mainstream games, especially in the art department? Well, here’s a another one. Malaysian-based art studio Lemon Sky has been in the business in producing art for games and 3D animation. Games like Uncharted 4, Gears of War 4 and Dead Rising 4 had some contribution made from them. Their latest work is with Blizzard on the newly remastered StarCraft.

The post from their Facebook post has publicly announced their contribution to the remaster of the highly-respected RTS, with pictures of the credits screen of the folks involved with the project.

Here are a few sample screenshots of the StarCraft Remastered, showcasing the original graphics compared to the HD version. Yes, it looks really similar as still images, but that’s the whole point. The assets now look sharper and better detailed, but without changing the look and field of the original classic.

Always nice to hear local game development companies making it big. For now most of them are co-developers or outsource help to the big developers, but it will only be a matter of time until Southeast Asia becomes a new hub for AAA game development at this rate.

StarCraft Remastered is out now for $14.99 USD (RM60.40). The original StarCraft and Brood War expansion is now free to download.
