Logitech G has announced a new set of steering wheel peripheral for sim racing games. The Logitech G923Racing Wheel And Pedals is designed for use on PS4 and PC, and should also be compatible with the upcoming PS5.
The G923 has a new force feedback system, Trueforce, with 4000 times per second polling with direct integration to game physics on select titles (so far it’s Grid 2019, Asetto Corsa Competizione and Gran Turismo Sport). Though it should work with other games with racing wheel support too.
Essentially, you should be able to feel more of the tyre grip, or engine grunt like how you can feel those from a real car’s steering wheel. Something real racers use to their advantage.
“The new Logitech G923 wheel with Trueforce gives drivers an authentic experience behind the wheel and simulates the details we feel as racing drivers,” said Lando Norris, race driver for McLaren F1, which Logitech is a sponsor of. “I can feel if the rear of the car loses grip or if I’m about to spin, which gives me the best chance to quickly correct it, and stay ahead of the competition.”
Other cool features sim racers can expect from the G239 are as follows:
- Programmable Dual Clutch Launch Controls
- Built-In Rev Indicator
- On-Wheel Game Controls
- Progressive Brake Pedals
- 24-Point Selection Dial
The G923 won’t be replacing any bespoke sim racing rig solutions, but for budding sim racers who wants to get their feet wet, it should be a good entry point like the previous G29 was.
The Logitech G923 Racing Wheel And Pedals should be out in Malaysia sometime this month for RM1,990.
