Lego Horizon Adventures, a Lego-fied take on the Guerrilla Games’ Horizon series, now has a release date.
The new snippet seen at the September 2024 State Of Play revealed a release date, and some pre-order bonuses which includes Lego minifig outfits of PlayStation mascots Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet and Ratchet and Rivet from Ratchet & Clank.
This game will be releasing not only on PS5 and PC, but also on Nintendo Switch. So it’s not just Aloy and her cyber-tribal crew that will be appearing on effectively a competitor’s console. Nintendo of America has not posted the pre-order trailer on their YouTube channel yet.
Lego Horizon Adventures is an action-adventure romp which features the Horizon world as seen through the lens of Lego bricks. And also the Lego vibe of being a self-aware and whimsy as established in The Lego Movie and has since permeate onto all Lego games, like Lego 2K Drive. That pre-order trailer made a remark how expensive trailer slots are in a broadcast like this, and still managed to squeezed in the mandatory “awesome” quip somewhere.
Lego Horizon Adventures also features two-player co-op, local and online (but no crossplay). It looks to be fun new adventure fit for all ages. It would be interesting to see kids being exposed to this game first and then discovering the bleak yet optimistic world the mainline games are when they are old enough to experience Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West.
Lego Horizon Adventures will be out on November 14 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Nintendo Switch.
