Lenovo is adding one more gaming laptop to their 2020 line for the holiday season. They have revealed the Lenovo Legion 7i Slim.
As the name implies, it’s the Legion 7i, currently the most premium offering from the brand- but thinner. It’s 17.9mm thin and weighs 1.86kg, which Lenovo is claiming to be the lightest 15-inch GeForce RTX-powered gaming laptop at the time of writing.
It still carries over the new features seen in the 2020 line which consists of the Legion 5, Legion 5i (which we have reviewed) and Legion 7i. The more mechanical-y but not mechanical TrueStrike keyboard switches are here. Improved cooling features dubbed Coldfront 2.0 (but with bigger air intake for the 7i Slim) is here. So is Nvidia Advance Optimus that cleverly switches between CPU and discrete GPU use for longer battery life. The usual.
As for specs, expect a 10th-gen Intel Core i9 and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 at most. A 4K 60Hz IPS display that has VESA DisplayHDR 400 with 100% Adobe RGB is available for content creators. Or a faster 144Hz refresh rate panel with a 100% sRGB colour gamut for competitive gamers.
Other cool features include a privacy shutter- a physical switch to cover the webcam off, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos software, a fingerprint reader and Corsair iCUE for per-key RGB customisation.
The Lenovo Legion 7i Slim is expected to release in October for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. No word of local availability in Malaysia yet, so stay tuned for now.
