Sony is releasing a new Major Update for the PS5 tomorrow, which includes the ability to use a M.2 SSD storagewithin the PS5 expansion slot, a feature that many users have been waiting for since the launch of the console.
With this update, you can use a selection of SSDs (with built-in heatsink) and insert them onto your PS5 console to store games within. Which unlike their rival’s expansion method, it can play both PS4 and PS5 games without any issues or transferring of files.
Other than that, some User Experience changes for the PS5 menu and 3D Audio support for TV Speakers is also coming in this major update. With the latter bring in the 3D audio experience to your living room with the help of your DualSense controller (as seen in the trailer above).
The September System Software Update for the PlayStation 5 will release tomorrow, September 15. You can check out how to install a SSD expansion on your PS5 here.
