Killer Bean Video Game Looks Surprisingly Killer

Have you ever encountered the web movie Killer Bean? Millions have watched in YouTube, and memes have spawned from the over-the-top action story featuring anthropomorphic beans. But fascinatingly, it’s going to have an official video game for PC.

Simply titled Killer Bean, the game is a third-person/first-person shooter that features an open world, but also a rougelike. A new campaign will see locations, missions, characters, bosses and even the story changes. So an ally in one campaign could be a boss in another.

What’s surprising is how killer the gameplay trailer looks. The trailer features Jack “Killer” Bean guns akimbo doing dodges, flips and entering bullet time mode in both third-person and first-person. Those swan dives in first-person look wild.

Maybe it’s just me expecting little out of a video game based on silly (but incredibly well-produced) YouTube movies. But this might be, just as the movies, competently put together. The vehicle physics looks janky but it’s the fun kind. But the gunplay looks immaculate in the trailer.

The Killer Bean video game is being developed by the same team that has been making the Killer Bean movies, the last entry of that being Killer Bean Forever. This isn’t the first video game based on this IP, as it already has a mobile game, Killer Bean Unleashed, which is still available for iOS and Android.

Killer Bean, the PC game has no release date but you can wishlist it on Steam.
