Hot Wheels Unleashed Will Let You Make Your Own Tracks

Hot Wheels Unleashed, the upcoming arcade racing game by Milestone will let you indulge in racing die-cast toy cars, rendered on an accurate scale. And if you think seeing the cars zooming on the orange tracks can’t be cool enough, here’s another feature coming to the arcade racer: there’s a track editor too.

Players can make their own tracks using the track builder, which Milestone says to be the exact same tool the devs used to make the official tracks in the game. You can make use of all the different rooms (environments) as your starting point, or use the Track Room, which gives you an empty space to work with.

After placing your starting line, you’re free to put in the orange tracks in its many different modules including the iconic loop pieces. Each track piece can be curved, angled and stretched to your liking as well.

If you’re not a fan of orange, the individual track pieces can be decorated with different colours and decorations. You can even change the rail types- or remove any kind of safeguard rails if you feeling frisky.

You can also make the track piece invisible, essentially making the cars able to go on the surface of the environment. You can also make use of it to create gaps for jumps.

Before submitting the track to be available in the other modes as well as uploaded online, you’ll need to validate it by going around it yourself.

Hot Wheels Unleashed’s track editor looks robust. Now you can play Trackmania in your Hot Wheels game, which is interesting considering Trackmania lets you create insane tracks you’d usually see made for Hot Wheels toys. It all comes full circle.

Hot Wheels Unleashed will be out on September 30 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
